Kristin K. Cheney is an associate attorney working in the arena of family law. Kristin previously worked as an associate attorney with The Law Offices of James M. Abramson, PLLC representing foster care agencies within New York City and Westchester County. During her law school career Kristin was a volunteer intern at inMotion, Inc., working on default divorce proceedings for low-income women, and spent a semester at the Center for Family Representation, conducting research, writing, and shadowing attorneys in Family Court.
Kristin graduated from New York Law School in May 2009, and was admitted to practice in the State of New York in February 2011. Since her admission, Kristin has been appearing in the Supreme Court, Family Court, Surrogate’s Court, and Small Claims Court.
Kristin has experience working in various areas, including foster care (abuse, neglect, and termination of parental rights), custody, visitation, confidentiality of records and privacy practices, corporate work including incorporating and dissolving non-profit corporations as well as amending certificates of incorporation, cy pres proceedings in Surrogate’s Court and mental health proceedings.
