Our Estate Planning Process

Estate planning involves many important considerations, such as who will receive your assets and property, and what happens if you’re unable to make decisions due to incapacity. Our firm strives to create a comprehensive, tailored estate plan to meet your family’s needs.

Here is what you can expect when working with us:

Step 1 – Client Consultation and Intake

Our process starts with an initial phone consultation with one of our estate planning attorneys. The purpose of this meeting is to introduce our firm and learn about your estate planning goals. After the consultation, you’ll receive a link to our confidential Client Questionnaire, where we will ask you questions to help us further analyze your current situation and formulate your estate plan. While completing the information please be sure to tell us your most important concerns and as much detailed family and financial information as possible, so that we can better serve you.

Step 2 – Document Preparation

Once you complete the Client Questionnaire, our office will begin work on your estate planning documents. Our attorneys and paralegals will carefully review your Client Questionnaire and prepare draft documents which are tailored to your specific needs. On completion of the drafts, we will share the documents with you along with a link to book a Virtual Document Review.

Step 3 – Virtual Document Review

During our Virtual Document Review, our estate planning attorneys will review your estate planning documents with you. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss your goals and clarify your intentions. We will also review who will be the best parties to handle the responsibilities necessary to achieve your final wishes and instructions.
We will consider the type of assets you own, who owns them, and the relative tax considerations of your holdings in formulating your plan. We will then discuss the design of the will or trust package and determine what best meets your needs, considering your family, financial situation, and goals.

Step 4 – In-Person Estate Plan Signing Ceremony

After your Virtual Document Review, we will send you an invitation to schedule an in-person meeting. At the meeting, we will review any final questions you may have and execute the documents that day. We will provide you with the original copies and a digital file so that you may share your documents with anyone you choose. We will also discuss strategies to fund your revocable trust, if applicable.

We look forward to working with you.
