Focus

Rich’s practice areas include all aspects of Matrimonial and Family Law. He represents individuals in contested and uncontested divorce cases, as well as in a wide range of domestic relations and Family Law matters. These matters involve complex legal and financial issues and vast marital estates, as well as modest matters. He also handles local, national and international custody and visitation disputes, same-sex family law issues, paternity, child support, post-divorce modification and enforcement proceedings. He is well-versed in drafting and negotiating, prenuptial, postnuptial, cohabitation and separation agreements.

Experience

Rich has been practicing law for over 25 years and is admitted to the Bar of the States of New York and New Jersey, as well as the United States Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Matrimonial Section of the New York County Lawyers’ Association.  

Rich has vast trial experience involving issues of equitable distribution, spousal support, custody, visitation/parental access, child support, post-divorce enforcement and modification actions in both Supreme Court and Family Court. He represents clients of high net worth and modest means. He has been retained for trials involving contested paternity, local, national and international custody disputes, visitation/parental access disputes, child support, and orders of protection. He has litigated appeals from Supreme and Family Court, with drafting appellate briefs and arguing before the New York State Appellate Division.

Education

Rich graduated from Ohio University in 1989, cum laude. He received his Juris Doctor from Touro Law School in 1992, and served as Research Editor for Touro Law Review in 1991.
